Sims 1 Window Mod

If you want light in your houses, you need to make sure all of your rooms have at least one outside wall, so you can have windows that bring in light.  You can put in lamps, of course, but nothing looks as good as that lovely outdoor light.

A user named Aengine on Reddit asked for a mod that would allow windows on interior walls to also provide light, and that's what this mod does.  It's not terribly realistic, but that's fine; if you don't want it, just don't download it. :-)

This mod only works on the Maxis windows that are in the file I hacked.  These are the 1) The Single-Pane Fixed Window, 2)  the Single-Hung Window, 3) the Privacy Window, 4) the Windsor Window, 5) the Monticello Window, 6) the Monticello Window Full Length, 7) the El Sol Window, and 8) the Plate Glass Window.

The download:  InteriorWindowsGiveLight.zip

INSTALLATION:  This does NOT go in your Downloads folder; put this in your The Sims\GameData\Objects folder, and it will override the Windows.iff file that's inside the Objects.far file.

Here's an example of the difference it makes:

Without the mod:

And with the mod:

I hope you enjoy this!

I go to the trouble of uploading these mods in an attempt to make my fellow simmers happy.  So if you enjoy any of these mods, I'd love to hear about it!  I don't get mail at corylea.com, but you can leave a comment in the thread announcing these mods at ModTheSims or Reddit or send me a PM at either of those places; I'm Corylea at both.

Have fun!
